What This Role Is…

As a Showroom Staging Associate, the primary function of this position is to assist the Visual Merchandising Coordinator in product merchandising and maintenance of showrooms. The Showroom Staging Associate will work to physically implement product layout changes and moves based on Marketing and Visual direction. Your contributions will ensure the success of the Visual Merchandising department at CITY Furniture.

Position Title: Showroom Staging Associate/Showroom Operations Associate

Location:         The Villages

Reports to:      Regional Visual Merchandising Manager or Regional Visual Merchandising Supervisor

Department/Sub-Department: Marketing/Visuals

Pay rate: $17-19 DOE

What You’ll Do…

As a Showroom Staging Associate, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Assist in the product transition process for all product categories on display
  • Assisting Visual Merchandising coordinator (VMC) with heavy lifting, hanging chandeliers, and building newly delivered furniture
  • Support VMC by receiving, unpacking, and tagging of accessories
  • Proper installation of all product categories (rugs, lamps, chandeliers, power motion and electronics)
  • Responsible for the showroom maintenance (interior and exterior)
  • Collaborate with all Associates to ensure the success of the organization

 

What We’re Looking For…

Furniture experience is not needed to be exceptional in this role! If you have moderate knowledge of and ability to use tools, heavy lifting, bending and be on your feet for long periods of time, this role may be your perfect fit!

As a Showroom Staging Associate your required skills and qualifications are:

  • Ability to work with basic tools (hammer, screwdrivers, allen wrenches)
  • Ability to be on your feet 8 hours a day
  • Highly organized with a high attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team, or independently with little direct supervision
  • Comfortable with heights (12ft ladder)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent lifting and the use of ladders, etc.
  • Travel from showroom to showroom required
  • Valid FL Driver’s License
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required; additional languages such as Creole, Portuguese, etc. are a plus

 

What’s Required…

  • Education & Work Experience:
    • High school diploma preferred
    • One to five years of Operations and/or Maintenance experience within a retail environment
  • Work Environment & Schedule:
    • The position is required to work a flexible 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, with limited night and weekend hours, in a retail furniture showroom and warehouse environment.
    • This position requires travel between showrooms, including showroom openings and remerchandising projects.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Physical demands include heavy lifting in excess of 75 lbs and the ability to bend, reach and be on feet for long periods of time.
    • This position will be required to carry and be on the highest step of a 12 ft ladder, therefore, should not be afraid of heights.
  • Technology Requirements:
    • General PC
    • Microsoft Outlook and email management
    • Apple iPad
  • Certifications / Licenses
    • Valid Florida Driver License required
  • Other Requirements
    • Basic hand tool proficiency required (i.e. screw driver, pliers, Allen wrench, hammer, drill)
    • Basic wiring experience preferred
