Meet the Recruiting team
Jill Scarborough is a passionate mom, wife, church-goer, dog-lover and “Jack-of- All-Trades” Human Resource Professional. In her many years with City Furniture, Jill has seen it all (well, most of it), and she always has a great story to tell or another perspective that you can adopt to make life easier. Jill earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, has been PHR Certified, has held numerous Leadership positions including Recruiting Manager, Associate Relations Manager, and Learning and Development Manager, and she is both a People First Certified Trainer, and Training Within Industry–Job Instruction (TWI JI) Certified Trainer.
Ayinde came to City Furniture with a very particular skill… that he will find you and you will be hired. ‘Investigative Recruiter’ was not an option when he attended school so he settled for a Master’s degree in Human Resources, and is now known as the department’s "Sourcer".
Ayinde has two children. The first one is a 2.0 liter, 400 Horse Power beast #mk6gti. Ursula was built, not bought. His other child is Emma, a beautiful VW Tiguan with 325 lb. ft. of torque. Ayinde has a great sense of humor and an amazing ability to connect with people from all walks of life. If you like cars, video games (Xbox or Playstation), or comic books, you're sure to have a great conversation with Ayinde.
Ayinde has a desire for recruiting and thoroughly enjoys working with his team, and has promised us at least another 25 years of his awesomeness.
Debbie Nichols is an avid Miami Heat fan who has a love for both shoe shopping and Pickleball. She started with City Furniture over 20 years ago in Sales. Over the years, she excelled in many departments such as Customer Service and Visual Display before discovering her true passion for Operations Recruiting.
Debbie takes extreme pride in finding the best candidates for the company. She establishes a rapport and connection with the associates that lasts. She believes that her recruiting experiences have not only enriched other people’s lives, but has enriched her own life in so many ways.
Nickey wakes up each morning with a big smile on her face, thankful to hear the sweet voice of her daughter saying, "good morning, Mommy". Besides being a proud parent and spending time with her family, she enjoys salt-water fishing, cooking, dancing, exploring different cultures, and researching design fashion blogs for the latest hairstyles, clothing, and decorating trends.
Her greatest achievement, by far, has been working for such an amazing organization and being fortunate enough to have co-workers she considers family. At a young age, Nickey knew she wanted a career that had an impact on a person's life and, as it happens, she has been fortunate enough to find her way to corporate recruiting, where she can connect candidates with their dream jobs.
Lexie is known for the enthusiasm and positive energy she brings to the team. Prior to joining the company, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Florida Atlantic University in 2012. During her four years at FAU, Lexie cheered for the football and basketball teams each season, and she LOVES her FAU Owls! Shortly after graduating, she met the City Furniture team and accepted a position as a Sales Manager in Training.
During the first four years of her career, she excelled in sales and was quickly promoted into leadership roles. In January of 2017, she joined the HR team as the College Recruiting Manager and is now helping the company find great new leadership talent to manage our showrooms. She says that the best part of her job is to see the associates she hired excel in their careers and become successful managers.
Broderick arrived at City Furniture with six years of Recruiting experience and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Learning and Leadership. Specializing in "sourcing", Broderick takes great pride in discovering and converting passive candidates into City Furniture associates. Understanding the importance of a team environment, he comes to work each day with a passion that is infectious to the recruiters around him. Broderick gives unwavering support to his colleagues and will pitch in to help at a moment’s notice.
Outside of work, some of his interests include the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, and his Turbocharged Mustang!
Sasha Rodriguez joined the team with over 12 years of professional recruiting experience in South Florida and a passion for building relationships and placing people in new careers. She enjoys the hunt for great talent and is willing to go above and beyond to find that “perfect” candidate for each of her hiring managers.
She has two daughters and a husband and together they enjoy going to football games throughout the country. Unless the Patriots have just lost a game, Sasha is known to always have a smile on her face and she will always give you a friendly greeting in passing.
Dayana joined the City Furniture recruiting team in early 2018. Her extensive sourcing and recruiting skills have been such an asset to the team. Dayana graduated from Florida International University and obtained a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a double major in Management and Human Resources.
Outside of work, Dayana enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures, finding the best places to brunch with friends, crafting, and spending lots of quality time with her bundle of joy, her daughter Dahlia. Dayana’s diligence and strong interpersonal skills help her find the best talent for our City Furniture family. She’s thrilled to be part of such a stellar team and company!
Crystal is best known for her positive attitude, sense of humor, and her passion for helping others. She started at City Furniture over 13 years ago in our Customer Service department as a Customer Service Representative and worked her way up to a Customer Service Manager. Her experience in the US Army definitely prepared her for leadership roles at City Furniture. To continue her growth and passion for helping others, she jumped at the opportunity to join the recruiting team. Crystal makes it her priority to find the right guy or gal for the job. She really gets to know her candidate to ensure that she finds them the right fit.

Joni is City Furniture’s West Coast Human Resources Business Partner assisting with Recruitment, Associate Relation, and Risk Management for the showrooms in Naples and Fort Myers. Joni comes to City Furniture with over 25 years in all of the Human Resources disciplines and has experience in a variety of industries.
Although she is not a native Floridian, she feels like one having been in Florida since 1999 after taking a chance on a whirlwind romance that resulted in her marriage to Bruce. She is the adoring mother and unabashedly biased grandmother of Amaya. She will gladly whip out photos whether you ask or not! She is also “mom” to two fur babies, Lucy and Milo, both rescue cats, both healthy and in their teens.
