What This Role Is…
As a Sales Intern, the primary function of this position is to participate in an immersive 11-week internship
program designed to develop foundational sales, leadership, and showroom business skills within a CITY retail
showroom environment. The Sales Intern supports the sales process, engages with customers, completes
project-based assignments, and participates in team development while gaining hands-on experience in
showroom operations and leadership exposure. Your contributions will ensure the success of the Retail
Department at CITY.

Department/Sub-Department: Retail / CITY Retail

Program Details:

This is an 11-week summer internship program running from May 11th – July 31st, 2026. Travel is required. Must be available to work Saturday & Sunday. 

Compensation:

This is a paid internship with a base hourly rate of $21, which is provided until your commission earnings meet or exceed that amount. The role offers uncapped commission, with the potential to make up to $65,000 or more! The position also includes full benefits, a 401(k) plan, profit sharing, and employee discounts.

Opportunity to earn up to $1,500 in additional bonuses at the end of the program.

What You’ll Do*…
As a Sales Intern, your primary responsibilities will be to:
● Learn and support the end-to-end retail sales process, including customer engagement, product
education, and solution-based selling within the showroom environment. (30%)
● Participate in structured training sessions covering sales fundamentals, product knowledge, customer
experience, and business operations. (20%)
● Monitors sales and advises Guests of any changes to their order. Provides Guests with after sale followup and performs Guest retention strategies (i.e., thank you for calls or texts, after sale calls, etc.).
Monitors the back-order list and updates Guests accordingly. Documents and reports Guest relationship
management activities via information technology systems. (20%)
Additional duties and responsibilities as a Sales Intern:
● Participate in leadership exposure opportunities, including meetings with showroom leadership and crossfunctional partners to learn about business operations and career paths. (10%)
● Support showroom merchandising standards and maintain a welcoming and organized sales floor
environment. (10%)
● Participate in team-building activities, professional development workshops, and final project
presentations during the internship program. (10%)
● Adheres to all assigned Standard Work and Role and Responsibilities for your role.

What’s Required…
• Education & Work Experience:
o Currently enrolled student at a 2-year or 4-academic institution
o Or Recent College Graduate from accredited institution or GED equivalent


• Work Environment & Schedule:
o Ability to work evenings and weekends as part of a flexible and accommodating full-time, 40-
hour-per-week schedule


• Physical Requirements:
o Ability to guide customers throughout the showroom for extended periods of time. Some of our
showrooms are equivalent to the size of two football fields, and Associates have recorded over
15,000 steps taken in a single day!
o Light lifting


• Technology Requirements:
o Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, SharePoint and Outlook, etc.)
o iPad for all training, transactions, financing applications, inventory checks, etc.
