Job Description

We have a wonderful opportunity to join our CITY Furniture Sales Team as the Managing Director of Online Sales.  The primary function of this position is to design, support, and facilitate the online sales business; growing eCommerce Sales through Online Chat, Phone Resolutions, and Social Selling. This role includes working cross functionally to successfully attain or exceed revenue, growth, and customer satisfaction goals. 

This position requires working variable shifts over a 5 day/45-50 hour work week, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. It is primarily remote, but does require some travel to showrooms. This position requires prolonged time working on a computer and interacting in a virtual environment. 

The Managing Director of Online Sales’ key responsibilities:

Strategic Initiatives - Responsible for the creation and implementation of initiatives to increase online sales growth/revenue, while achieving customer satisfaction goals. Participates in cross-departmental problem-solving initiatives and contributes to the organization's strategic planning process.

Implementation - Ensures timely implementation of new processes/changes within the online sales team. Measures the ROI of new initiatives for online sales and audits team to ensure compliance to standards. 

Coaching - Conducts one-on-one monthly strategic reviews and coaching sessions with each team member. Aligns weekly with team members to review progress to goals and encourage team members to identify problems and propose process improvements. 

Financial Resources - Reviews daily, weekly, and monthly KPI boards, monthly financial statements, and creates/manages online sales budget. Responsible for Online Sales profitability (contribution) through proper management of all revenues and operating expenses.

Human Resources - Hires, trains, and develops online sales team members to achieve department and company goals. Gains feedback from showroom Associates and Leadership on the team and audits the quality of the new Associates. Completes and conducts Individual Development Plans with team members. Resolves associate issues as needed.

Professional Development - Continually seeks improvement within oneself and increased knowledge of Company initiatives. Participates in inter-departmental training, and increases knowledge of LEAN and People First. Shops Competitors and remains aware of other internal and external environmental factors. Completes all quizzes, classes, and learning opportunities regarding product and sales and HR Awareness.

Job Requirements

Education - Bachelor Degree

Work Experience and Skills - (5) Five years or more of experience within eCommerce. Experience in the retail industry a plus. 

Computer Knowledge -

  • Advanced Levels of Ecommerce Systems
  • Google Suite
