What This Opportunity Is…

As a Director of Sales - Appliances and Consumer Electronics, the primary function of this position is to serve as a key executive responsible for managing sales excellence of the appliance and electronics customer value stream from entering the store through point of sale. This role leads the strategic direction of our appliance and electronics divisions, focusing on driving sales growth and delivering outstanding customer experiences. The Director of Sales - Appliances and Consumer Electronics is also responsible for crafting and executing a robust sales strategy, building and leading a top-performing team, cultivating key vendor relationships, and maximizing revenue potential across both categories. Your contributions will ensure the success of the Sales department at CITY Furniture.

Position Title: Director of Sales - Appliances and Consumer Electronics

Reports To:     VP of Sales or Managing Director of Retail Ops

Location:         On-site, Tamarac or Plant City, Florida

Department/Sub-Department: Sales/ Retail Operations

Starting pay range: $100,000-$120,000

What You’ll Do*…

As the Director of Sales - Appliances and Consumer Electronics, your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Performance management, financial planning and forecasting (35%):
    • Develop and monitor key performance indicators across the appliance value stream.
    • Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.
    • Develop, implement, and execute strategic business plans including achievement of assigned metrics.
    • Develop and implement a plan for launching appliance and electronics sales within our existing retail infrastructure.
    • Build and maintain Associate morale and motivation, oversee performance.
  • Customer experience optimization (25%):
    • Ensure seamless integration of appliances and electronics into the existing showroom and customer buying journey.
    • Collaborate with store managers and marketing to promote awareness and drive traffic.
    • Document processes and policies needed to ensure future state customer experience and expectations are met.
    • Work closely with operations, marketing, and visual merchandising to support the success of the appliance and electronic categories.
  • Team development and training (25%):
    • Direct hiring, training, and development of appliance and electronics sales teams.
    • Ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.
    • Provide product knowledge training and ensure consistent, high-quality customer experiences.
  • Vendor relationship management (15%):
    • Build and maintain vendor relationships

What’s Required…

  • Education & Work Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field required.
    • Minimum 5 years of retail management experience, with 3 years in appliance sales
    • Proven track record of launching or expanding product lines or departments, with preferred experience integrating new categories into established retail environments.
  • Work Environment & Schedule:
    • Four weekdays and one weekend day
    • May be required to work nights and holidays based on business needs.
    • May be required to work in the showrooms, warehouses, on deliveries, etc. to ensure the customer experience is flawless
    • 30% of Travel to various store locations on a weekly basis
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to move through retail space for extended periods
    • Occasional lifting and moving of products up to 25 pounds
    • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and computer use
  • Technology Requirements:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc.)
    • Google Suite (i.e. Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
    • Experience with retail POS systems
  • Certifications / Licenses
    • Valid Driver’s license
