Job Description

We have a wonderful opportunity to join our City Furniture Operations team. As the Director of Operations - Routing & Dispatch, the primary function of this position is responsible for the overall Routing and Fulfillment strategies of the company including Next Day Delivery, Same Day Delivery, Buy Online Pickup In Store, Nationwide Shipping & Free Shipping across all markets. This leader will optimize all fulfillment opportunities, problem solve delivery satisfaction issues including missed time windows, load leveling, length of day for drivers and routing efficiency along with providing detailed analysis of all routing parameters, and KPI’s.

This position requires an analytical approach to problem solving and cross-functional leadership across various work groups within the company (Sales, Distribution Center, Customer Care) in an effort to aide in reducing operational costs, and increasing customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for ensuring operational processes are sustained and are continuously improved throughout the department as dictated by standard work. The Director of Operations is responsible for the department’s adherence to standard work, as well as scheduling, forecasting, and strategic planning for the department.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required

Education - Bachelor’s Degree is required

Work Experience and Skills - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Operations, Dispatch, Logistics or related field.

Computer Knowledge - Below is the list of the computer programs and software applications that are

required for this position:

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • High Jump or related WMS
  • AS400
  • Related Routing Software

Certifications and Licensure - Valid Driver’s License is required.
