Director of Delivery Service Operations
The primary function of this position is to lead our Delivery Service department. This position is responsible for ensuring operational processes are maintained and continuously improved throughout the Warehouse. This position is also responsible for audits and problem solving in an effort to aide in reducing operational costs while increasing customer satisfaction. The Director of Delivery Service is responsible for the department’s adherence to standard work, as well as all scheduling, forecasting, and strategic planning for the department.
This position is required to work a flexible work week in both a corporate environment and in a large non-air-conditioned Distribution Center (warehouse). This position does not requires lifting and bending.
Problem Solving - Owns problem solving projects and accountable to improve KPIs and deliver on project deadlines. Requires critical thinking and extensive problem solving and has discretion to make process changes as needed to achieve targeted goals. Manages direct reports to facilitate determined countermeasures.
Meetings - Prepares and meet with associates and team leaders to discuss any issues encountered during the shift. Prepares and meets with management from other groups within the warehouse to discuss issues, staffing and countermeasures. Facilitates both internal and cross-functional meetings and presentations with mid-level management and subordinates
Coaching - Responsible for coaching and developing direct reports.
Auditing - Audits external processes throughout the organization to identify integral defects and work cross-functionally to prevent them. Audits internal Department and Operations Department processes to eliminate waste, defects.
Development - Developing his/her own knowledge of both our business and the furniture business including benchmarking trips, visits to suppliers, other retailers, etc
Miscellaneous- Involved in Associate recognition, responds to Emails and requests as needed. Hands on quality inspections, etc
