Occupational Summary

The primary function of the CITY CONTRACTS B2B LEADER is to provide overall leadership for the CITY Contract, the B2B division of CITY Furniture. The CITY CONTRACTS B 2 B LEADER is responsible for the continued implementation of the departmental management system across all of the business departments (Sales, Design, Operations). This leadership role collaborates with cross departmental leadership to ensure the highest execution on business related initiatives. This role is also responsible for direct leadership, coaching and mentoring the leaders of the individual departments.

Work Environment Summary

This position is required to work a flexible 45-50-hour work week, in a corporate office environment, remote, at showrooms, at project sites, at clients’ design centers and vendor showrooms.

 Key Responsibilities   

Leadership and Development - Conducts daily standups with the department leaders to ensure management system implementation, discuss KPI’s and ensure that CITY’s values are being practiced. Conducts quarterly IDP’s with their direct reports to grow their department and "raise the tide" of talent around them.  

 Business Relationship Development - Seek out and secure new partnerships within the community to do collaborations with. This position will also be required to plan and attend trade conventions both locally and across the US.   

Strategic guidance for CITY Contract - Work with VP of Business Development to ensure competitive advantages across the BU’s in the area of technology, value propositions, promotions and cross departmental offerings  

Planning/Forecasting - This position will be responsible for planning and forecasting Monthly/Yearly forecasts for both revenues and the appropriate staffing levels for all business units.  

Operational Excellence - Ensures standardization of processes, adherence to the standard across the business units, creation of KPI’s and other performance metrics. This position will also own the implementation of new technologies and CRM tools.   

Reporting Structure - This position reports directly to the VP of Business Development and is a member of the CITY Contract team.

Financial Transaction Responsibilities This position is responsible for preparing financial transactions for approval by others and reconciling financial transactions.

Decision Making Responsibilities This position is responsible for making decisions regarding scheduling workflow, developing alternate solutions, and adjusting deadlines and budgets. This position is responsible for consulting with others to make decisions regarding changing design intent.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred not required.

Work Experience  

  • Seven+ years related work experience specifically in outside sales leadership, within building materials, design or furniture strongly preferred.

Computer Knowledge and Skills
