We have a wonderful opportunity to join our CITY Furniture Office of Strategy Management team. As the Associate Corporate Counsel - Litigation the primary function of this position is to

 is to advocate on behalf of company and manage the litigation lifecycle of legal cases in the areas of workers’ compensation, employment and labor law, and other miscellaneous actions (both defense and plaintiff) that may arise within the company. This position is also responsible for representing the company in an administrative, local, state and federal courts including drafting legal pleadings, discover, dispute resolutions, settlements, position statements and other legal actions. The Associate Corporate Counsel- Litigation will also advise clients on business and legal issues, managing litigation process related to their caseload, and assisting the General Counsel and other internal legal counsel with outstanding matters.   .

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required

Education -Juris Doctor Degree in Law and Florida Bar certification required

 

Work Experience -

A minimum of (5) five years’ experience in Workers’ Compensation law (defense preferred)

A minimum of (2) years’ civil litigation experience as lead counsel before federal courts, state courts, and administrative agencies

 

Computer Knowledge and Skills -

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher)
  • Google Suite
  • Case Management Systems (Aderant preferred)
  • Certification or Licensure Requirements -
  • Lean Process knowledge preferred
  • Valid driver’s license

 

Legal Knowledge -

  • Workers’ Compensation case management
  • Labor and employment law, including Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Department of Labor (DOL), and other complaints/charges
  • Business immigration, including H1B visa application process
