Job Description

 Occupational Summary

The primary function of the Senior Performance Marketing is to develop and execute high performing digital marketing and customer acquisition plans that meet business objectives. The Senior Manager of Performance Marketing oversees all day[1]to-day paid digital media efforts in collaboration with our media agency and/or internal teams, including developing briefs and assignments, reviewing plans and optimization, trafficking of assets between creative and media partners, and surfacing real time trends we are seeing within our larger digital team.

This role will serve as an expert resource for internal teams on all things digital media including: media opportunities, platform analytics, platform best practices, and constant environmental changes across all channels including Search, Display, and Online Video, as well as paid retargeting/remarketing efforts.

This position must utilize judgement and individual discretion for daily decision making on optimization of Company’s media advertising strategies, media planning, and buying. This position consults with the Digital Marketing Director to schedule and prepare budgets and strategies.

Work Environment

 This position is required to work a flexible 40-hour workweek, Monday - Friday, remotely and in a corporate office environment with occasional extended hours on an as needed basis for special projects and events. Prolonged sitting and light lifting may be required. Travel may be required to conferences or vendor meetings.

Key Responsibilities - Manages the paid media budget for the digital marketing team, ensuring all spent funds are being tracked and spent on projects which are monitored. Evaluates emerging technologies for potential adoption. Manages timelines for deliverables of paid media recommendations, budget forecasting, reporting on key business health metrics, and surfacing issues while acting as the first line of defense for quality control.

Digital Media Management - Owns the design, execution, and optimization of online marketing campaigns across multiple channels (e.g. PPC, organic/SEO, retargeting, display, etc.) to effectively engage, profile, and turn prospects into customers. Handles ongoing project management of campaign execution across platforms, including data intake and integrity. Manages campaigns timeline, ROI, and data-driven improvements through optimization.

Team Leadership and Development - Manages a team of associates, motivating and developing team members to strive toward team, department, and company goals.

Tracking & Reporting - Measures and reports performance of all managed channels, and assesses against goals (ROI and KPIs), on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Identifies trends and insights, and optimizes spend and performance based on the insights. Provides executive performance summaries and assists in the creation of reports to facilitate quick insights to further improve future campaign performance.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Digital Marketing Director and is a member of the Marketing department.

Financial Transaction Responsibilities  

This position is responsible for approval and reconciliation of financial transactions such as time cards, authorizations-to-buy for media plans, and review or approve invoices for the accounting team.  

This position is responsible for preparing financial transactions for approval by others such as the Director, VP, and CMMO based on size (i.e., salary changes, loan agreements, etc.)

Decision Making Responsibilities

This position requires a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies to be able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution, including decision making on campaign optimizations within active strategies. Digital marketing managers will work with the marketing team, supporting teams, and vendors to finalize decisions to launch campaigns on time and on budget.

Job Requirements

Required Education  

Bachelor’s Degree required with a focus on advertising, marketing, or communications preferred.

 Work Experience - Five (5)+ years of experience in Digital Marketing with a focus on paid media management. Experience in Digital Marketing for Ecommerce or Retail is preferred.
