Job Description

We have a wonderful opportunity to join our CITY Furniture Human Resources team. As the Safety Specialist, the primary function of this position is to minimize CITY Furniture’s risk exposure, develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training, and to ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures in order to promote a safe workplace for our Associates and safe environment for our customers and guests.

This position is also responsible for monitoring all workplace incidents, including associate incidents and near misses across assigned region for Operations, Fleet, and Sales. You will conduct investigations to determine root cause of incidents. You will conduct post-incident interviews to determine root cause of incidents. You will make recommendations to prevent future incidents. You will complete scheduled and unscheduled audits of the workplace, practices, and processes. You will visit Showrooms and Distribution Centers to identify potential safety and security issues, report findings, and make recommendations. You will provide communication on safety performance and projects.

Job Requirements

Education - Bachelor’s Degree, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred

Work Experience and Skills - Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in workplace safety; extensive knowledge and/or experience with the rules and regulations of OSHA, Department of Transportation (DOT), and Florida Workers’ Compensation.
