We have a wonderful opportunity to join CITY Furniture IT team. As an experienced Sr. Team Lead Software Engineer, the primary function of this position is to design, develop, and maintain the City Furniture applications & software to support the needs of the organization and it’s users. Other responsibilities include managing the interchange of data between server side APIs, front-end systems, and end users. Integrations between backend server applications, and front-end technologies will also be necessary.

This position is also responsible for Analyzing needs and requirements based on story cards. You will Design and implement low-latency, highly-available, highly performant applications and code bases. You will integrate user-facing elements with server side logic. This job will also integrate database and data storage solutions, including traditional on-premises SQL based databases, and cloud based solutions such as RDS, MongoDB, and other Amazon web services. You also will analyze the performance of current software and programs. This role is looking for someone with a security first mindset.

Job Requirements


Education - Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or student in progress of obtaining degree

Work Experience and Skills - Previous full time, part-time, or project-based experience

Computer Knowledge - Below is the list of the technologies, programming languages, and software applications that are desired for this position

  • Sr. Team Lead with 5 yrs plus experience to lead a team of 4 + engineers minimum to help design or and delegate duties and tasks
  • Experience with working with cross-functional teams
  • Perform Code Reviews
  • Be able to respond to changing requirements and Production Issues
  • Deep expertise in Node.JS and experience of functional programming concepts
  • Experience in Agile practices
  • Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming.
  • Knowledge of Devops, CI/CD, AWS and Docker
  • Knowledge of the best practices involving JS code standards such as documentation (readme + inline comments + external wikis) + linting (eslint)
  • Past experience maintaining and triaging live production environments
  • Past experience working with UI/UX designers + QA + POs + stakeholders to define developer tickets and clarify business requirements
  • Understanding and experience with Linux operating system.
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as React.js.
  • User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
  • Integration of multiple data sources and databases into single system / endpoint.
  • Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
  • Advanced understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Ability to use, track, and respond to all work assignments using JIRA based ticketing system.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge.
