Fleet Maintenance Fuel Associate
Job Description

This position is responsible for the fueling, cleaning, and staging of CITY Furniture vehicles. The associate will fill each vehicle with both Gasoline and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) before staging the vehicle in the designated door locations.

The Fleet Fueler is also responsible for operating the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. Safety belts must be worn at all times while operating a company vehicle.

Work Environment Summary

This position is required to work a flexible 40-hour work week, Wednesday through Saturday nights and weekends, in a large non-air-conditioned Distribution Center (warehouse). This position may require working in inclement weather. This position includes prolonged periods of walking, standing, and stepping off and on vehicles. This position requires heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs at a time. This position includes exposure to chemicals (gasoline) and chemical fumes.

 

Vehicle Moving and Staging -

Vehicle Moving and Staging -

  • Walks to vehicle parking or staging area and selects the next vehicle to fuel.
  • Moves vehicle to gasoline fueling station at the west side of the facility.
  • Moves vehicle to delivery staging area and parks in designated door location or parking spot.
  • Ensures all back doors are locked.

 

Vehicle Fueling -

  • Checks vehicle CNG and gasoline fuel levels.
  • Selects vehicle and disconnects CNG connection, if applicable, per standard work method.
  • Fuels vehicle per standard work methods and records fuel gallons added for each vehicle.

 

Vehicle Cleaning -

  •  Removes any debris or trash left inside the vehicle.
  • When required, cleans and sanitizes the inside cab of each vehicle.

 

Equipment Inspection -

  • Inspects Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station for visible damage or defects. This includes, hoses, connectors, odor, hissing, etc.
  • Inspects vehicles parked at the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station, located at the east side of the facility, to ensure proper connection and PSI levels.
  • Inspects gasoline fueling station for safe working condition or defects. This includes damage to equipment, tanks, hoses, connections, leaks, electrical, pumps, wiring, etc.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required

Education required - High School or GED diploma.

Work Experience -

  • Minimum of (2) two years’ experience working in a driving position.
  • Minimum of (2) two years’ experience working in a warehouse or maintenance shop environment.
  • Experience working safety with chemicals.

Certification or Licensure Requirements -

  • Valid Class E Florida Driver’s License - No CDL Required
