Job Description

The primary function of this position is to recommend, design, implement, document and maintain City Furniture’s information and technology (IT) application development, architecture, and systems. The Enterprise Technology Architect (ETA) will maintain IT processes, business development strategies, and other internal functions to establish and implement changes that will increase sustainability and prepare us for future expansion. The Enterprise Technology Architect will work with the software development teams to drive best in class software design, development & deployment techniques. They will develop and implement testing and integration standards (functional & automated tests).

Enterprise Technology Architect - Act as the lead engineer for Information and Technology platforms. Own/drive the software architecture & design across enterprise. Work closely with infrastructure & development teams to develop optimal software/system architecture. Responsible for defining application reference architectures that turn business and technology strategic needs into actionable solutions. Act as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for platform development in AWS, IBM Cloud, and other cloud Environments.

Development & Adoption - The Enterprise Technology Architect will work with the IT leadership, Infrastructure & Operations teams to develop system designs for cloud and hybrid cloud platforms & deployments. The Enterprise Technology Architect will drive innovation and cloud technology adoption; ensuring security, compliance, and governance are foundational. This position will play a critical role in defining the next generation on premise and cloud architecture including API management, micro services, PaaS and containerization. This role will be working hands on to develop proof-of-concepts (POC) to identify viable options for implementing technology capability needs that support the business. This role will implement when necessary technology standards, technology stacks, security controls, and governance standards.

Document Systems & Infrastructure -- Create and maintain a system for documenting all critical IT systems, processes, and procedures.

Continuous Education & Learning -- Continuously self-educates in current, trending, and future

Job Requirements

Technical Knowledge and Skills -

* Experience architecting systems that are highly available, decoupled, saleable, and designed for unpredictable and high traffic loads

* Implementing automated testing platforms, and unit tests

* Development Languages - JavaScript (Node.js), Java, SQL,

* Strategic and forward-thinking technology leader with deep expertise in technology strategy

* Flexible and responsive; able to perform in a fast paced, dynamic work environment and meet

aggressive deadlines

* PaaS / Serverless Computing - AWS Lambda

* Knowledge of containers & microservices, and how to leverage and implement

* 5+ Years with Amazon Web Services

* Experience with Cloud based PaaS, IaaS platforms such as Amazon AWS, IBM Cloud (Bluemix), Docker

* Database - DB2, MongoDB, MySQL AWS EMR, DynamoDB, Hadoop,

* Scripting/Template - Chef, Python, AWS Cloud Formation,

* CI/CD - GitLab, Jenkins, Selenium, BitBucket

* Logging/Monitoring - ELK Stack, AWS/Azure monitoring, Kibani

* Private Cloud - VMware HCX, Hyper-V, VMware VIO, Openstack

* Linux operating system - Ubuntu, AWS, RedHat

* AS400 / IBM iSeries mainframe experience / RPG programming language
