Job Description

We have a wonderful opportunity to join our CITY Furniture Marketing team. As the eCommerce Site Merchandising Analyst will be responsible for optimizing online merchandising on CITY Furniture's website ( to grow sales, maximize margins and inventory for all product categories. The Analyst will assist with the execution and oversight of website taxonomy, category structure, and key online tools, such as product recommendation zones. The Analyst will also be responsible for defining, implementing, and governing category and product detail page standards. Create, sequence, and maintain curated online product assortments to represent and support key merchandising trends visually. Conduct periodic audits of the site for product content integrity, completeness, and optimization. Perform competitive and eCommerce research and pull web analytics to identify site merchandising best practices and trends. The eCommerce Site Merchandising Analyst will work on projects that directly support the Digital Department's Hoshin goals and sales objectives and the enterprise's goals and objectives.

Job Requirements

Education - Bachelor’s degree (preferably in marketing, business, or other analytical field)

- Two (2) to Three (3) years of related experience within a retail environment.  

Computer Knowledge and Skills - Below is the list of computer programs and software applications that are ideal

Work Experience for this position:

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Google G Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides)
  • Collaboration Tools (Zoom, Slack, InVision)
  • Strong working knowledge of web analytic tools, preferably Google Analytics
  • Familiarity with Product Information Management (PIM) systems
  • Familiarity with open source search platforms, such as Apache Solr and Elasticsearch
  • Experience utilizing site merchandising/faceted search products such as Hawk, Searchspring, Algolia, SLI Systems, or other similar toolsets, preferably as the power user

Additional Skills-

  • Prior eCommerce site operations/site merchandising experience
  • Prior merchandising experience a plus
  • Solid data analytical/data interpretation skills with the ability to manipulate large data sets
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills; strong attention to detail; strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills; strong organizing and planning skills with proven ability to multi-task; analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to work with minimal direction and supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across business audiences
  • Must be a self-starter showing a high level of initiative. Positive "can-do" attitude.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment sharing ideas, workflow, and process
