·         Monitors all incidents and reports trends and projections required to set safety goals for each department

·         Develops, implements and monitors compliance with the organizations risk management policies and procedures.

·         Prepares safety policies and procedures, provides support in implementing these policies and procedures

·         Develops and conducts training for in order to promote workplace safety

·         Ensures that federal, state and local safety laws, regulations, codes and rules are observed, and that OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.

·         Inspects work sites and machinery for potential hazards and ensures compliance with all state and federal laws

·         Conducts investigations of workplace accidents, injuries and job site safety and makes recommendations to correct problems.

·         Conducts audits of work practices and processes for potential safety hazards and reports findings and recommendations

·         Sets and monitors specific safety objectives for special projects

·         Conducting meetings to study and promote workplace safety

·         Provides expertise and training to management on issues related to safety

·         Develops training materials that reduce employees' exposure to hazardous materials and situations


Job Requirements

Required Skills and Experience


·         Bachelor’s degree in Business related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

·         Minimum 3-5 years specifically in workplace safety 

·         Extensive knowledge of and/or experience with the rules and regulations of Workers Comp, OSHA, and DOT 

·         Knowledge of workers compensation insurance and property protection insurance requirements 

·         Must possess excellent analytical, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills. 

·         Strong project management skills  

·         MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) 

·         Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred
